At Kilimos, we are currently in search of a Business Development Manager to join the Brazil team.

YOUR MAIN OBJECTIVE:

To identify and leverage opportunities for business growth and expansion. You will be in charge of leading discussions around Water replenishment, Net Positive Water Impact, and Collective Actions with major companies in Brazil and of articulating the commercial strategy with different areas of the company (Climate Adaptation, Brand Marketing, Agronomy Engagement).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the Brazilian market landscape, including customer needs, competitive environment, and regulatory framework. This involves conducting thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and understanding trends that can impact the business.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enter new markets or expand to existing ones within Brazil. This includes setting short and long-term goals and defining actionable strategies to achieve these objectives.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to drive business growth. This includes identifying potential clients, pitching services or products, and negotiating contracts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government entities. Networking is a critical component.
  • Work with different stakeholders to accelerate the incorporation of climate action projects within companies' sustainability strategies.
  • Bring innovative solutions to the table and adapt strategies based on market feedback and changes.
  • Support the Project Manager in the deployment stage when necessary.

Requisitos

  • Degree in business administration, commercial engineering, environmental science, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial roles and/or new business development, managing the end-to-end process.
  • Corporate experience in sustainability areas.
  • Advanced English proficiency and Spanish fluent (desirable)
  • To reside in the Sao Paulo area or nearby (desirable)
  • High analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills as this is a 100% remote and multi-stakeholder job.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in platform models (desirable).

TEAM DESCRIPTION:

You will be part of a multidisciplinary squad led by the VP of Business Development

EXPECTATIONS:

In the first week:

  • Learn about Kilimo's Culture and Vision.
  • Get to know Kilimo's platform and the work processes of the key areas.
  • Be introduced to active Water Stewardship projects and the metrics of the Climate Adaption team in Mexico.

In the first month:

  • Achieve fluid communication with the internal areas you will need to work with.
  • Meet the main local stakeholders that will allow you to acquire new clients.
  • Gain local knowledge of the basins where projects need to be executed.
  • Have a clear understanding of how Water Stewardship initiatives work in Brazil.
  • Understand the business strategy in Mexico to replicate or adjust it for Brazil.

In the first 3 months:

  • Fully understand the status, situation, and needs of projects in Brazil.
  • Be very familiar with the dynamics of the market and have an active funnel, having already achieved some meetings.
  • Understand how the service works for each type of client and what the product development cycle is like.
  • Be able to communicate your strategies and objectives for each new business to the rest of the areas you will need to work with.
  • Interact fluently with other Kilimo members.
  • Have autonomy to make decisions on new business opportunities.
  • Be recognized by local stakeholders as the spokesperson for Kilimo in Brazil.
  • Have identified risks and opportunities of the projects and be able to communicate them clearly to your leader and team members.
  • Full understanding of the P&L by project
  • Actively participate in events linked to climate challenges in the country.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change (new tools, new processes, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Office and Drive tools.
